Visiting professor at 2023 Nobel Laureate Prof. Ferenz Krausz Attoworld group
Prof. Dr. Bojan Resan was a visiting professor during his Sabbatical from February through August 2025 at Attoworld, group from Prof. Dr. Ferenz Krausz at Ludwig Maximilian University Munich and Max-Planck Institute for Quantum Optics, who received Nobel Price in 2023 for his contributions to Attosecond science. During this very inspiring time, Prof. Resan was working on development of the detection system for early cancer detection with femtosecond lasers. The novel Field Resolved Spectroscopy (FRS) is a very promising, non-invasive, molecular fingerprinting method to detect several cancer types from a drop of blood. In the Broadband IR Diagnostics (BIRD) team, led by Dr. Mihaela Zigman, he assisted in designing the mid-IR beam path and design and production of the microfluidic chips for blood flow-cytometry. These activities are continuing and a long-term collaboration between Attoworld at LMU/MPQ, and Photonics Ultrafast Systems group at FHNW is established.
