Large donation from Prof. Dr. Ursula Keller at ETH Zürich
In fall 2025, Prof. Dr. Ursula Keller from ETH Zürich, the world-wide recognized pioneer and leader in the ultrafast laser science and technology, was retired. Ursi gave a great, inspiring farewell lecture at ETHZ in December 2025.
As an additional, very noble and generous effort to further help in pushing the boundaries in ultrafast lasers, she donated some used equipment and components to the leading Swiss and EU groups in ultrafast laser field. One of the highly honored and thankful groups was Photonics Ultrafast Systems group at FHNW, which received used lasers, high-end measurement and diagnostics instruments, power supplies, and wide variety of opto-mechanic and optics components. The value of the instruments and components would reach one million Euros, if they were new. This donation is a high acknowledgement of the innovative and top-quality research of the PULSE group at FHNW. Even more, it will encourage and help us to keep up the research in Switzerland at the world frontier in the ultrafast laser science and technology.
Thank you Ursi very, very, very much!!!
